Our Chickens are Happy, Healthy, and Cuddled!
-it makes the eggs taste better!

  • Storage:

Fresh, unwashed eggs can be kept at room temperature for a couple of weeks, but once washed, they should always be refrigerated.

  • Freshness test:

To check if an egg is fresh, place it in a bowl of water; a fresh egg will sink to the bottom, while an older egg will float.

  • "Bloom":

The protective coating on a freshly laid egg that helps keep bacteria out, usually removed during washing.

  • Blood spots:

A small red dot sometimes seen in an egg, caused by a ruptured blood vessel during laying, and is still safe to eat.

  • Cracked shell:

Discard an egg with a visible crack in the shell as it may be contaminated

Eggs coming soon... the chickens are just chicks right now.
